To be a people who touch the heart of God and restore the heart of man
Back in the 90s, we were a small church with a nice name sitting on the side of the road, not yet fully aware of God’s full plan and vision for our lives. We were aware, however, that God was taking us somewhere. In time, He gave us a new name, Living Waters, based upon two primary Scriptures, Jeremiah 2:13 and Zechariah 14:8. These two Scriptures now serve as the foundation for both our vision and mission statements, and they govern everything we do.
For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Jeremiah 2:13
And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the Dead sea, and half of them toward the Mediterranean sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. Zechariah 14:8
Simply put, God is the fountain of living waters, and we are the Jerusalem He wants to flow through to a lost and dying world.
To join people to God, both in relationship and in ministry
We know we’ve been born for greatness, but what, exactly, does that look like? We have found that real greatness is not defined by our cars, our homes, or the people we know but by having a loving and healthy relationship with God. That’s because our hearts, whether we know it or not, are longing to be in relationship with God. So, our primary goal is to join people to Him first in relationship and then in ministry. Just like Adam and Eve – called to intimacy and to tend the garden together – so it is with Christ and the church.
